Here we go!
Here I am in front of the race profile ar the pre-race meeting earlier today. Elizabeth got me this kick-ass hat before I left. No one will forget who I am. That’s for sure!
10 hours from now I’ll be a mile or two into the race. Just 133-ish to go. It’s been an exciting and exhausting and sometimes stressful 3+ days of travel and I am definitely ready to just start running. I really don’t know what I’ve got ahead of me but I do know that I’m going to get to the finish line in Paraisopolis if I have to crawl my way there. A big part of that finish will be due to the fact that I know I have the support of so many wonderful people who have encouraged me, are following along during the race and will be there to listen to me drone on endlessly about the trip.
And specal thanks to Aaron and Natan who have been with me he last 2 days and will help make sure I finish the race and to all the great Brazilian and American people we’ve et here so far who have been so generous with their time, energy and advice.
