I’ve Got A Job To Do!
This weekend, I’m helping Rod:

Cross this finish line:

I got called in somewhat last minute when Colin and Kristin decided to have their baby a month early, which meant Colin couldn’t go pace Rod as originally planned. So, I’ll be pacing Rod from mile 50 to mile 76.5.
(Yes, I’m having fun with drawing on photos today.)
Leadville is an out-and-back course, so I’ll pick up Rod at the turn-around at Winfield and take him back over Hope Pass (12,600′) over Mt. Elbert (10,500′) and then to the Fish Hatchery/Outward Bound aid station.
It’s Rod’s first 100 and my first time pacing at a 100. I’m super psyched to help him out. It should also be a ton of fun to be at Leadville, which is supposed to be quite a party – by ultramarathon standards, that is.
It’s a great opportunity for me to help out a friend, get in a good long run at altitude and get myself into race mentality.
I’ll try to update from Leadville!
Nice dude. Bring your camera along…wanna see those pics from Hope!
