Wildflower – HERE WE GO!
After thinking about this weekend for a few months, the gun for my wave at Wildflower will go off in just about 14 hours.
Mike, Warren, Pete, Kim, Bruce and I got up here Thursday morning (Mike, Warren and I made a pit stop at the swanky Travelodge in Paso Robles on Wednesday night). Since arriving, we’ve been eating, drinking (water, of course), warming up our legs and arms with some short training sessions, getting gear ready for tomorrow and trying our best to relax. I feel like we’ve been generally successful in all those things.
My wave is scheduled to start the race tomorrow at 8:30am. My bib number is 817. I don’t know if there will be live tracking during the race, but if there is, you’ll find it here, on the official Tri California/Wildflower website.
Since I haven’t raced a triathlon in over a year and the last year has been anything but a usual year for me and since I’ve never biked or ran the course, I have no idea what tomorrow will bring and am hesitant to make any public predictions. But I’ve been feeling good recently and I feel rested and healthy today. I’m gonna go out, push myself and try to have some fun. Sometime early tomorrow afternoon we’ll know how that race “plan” worked out!
Wish me luck and send me some fast vibes, please!
(I’ve been taking tons of photos but I’ve given up on uploading them out here in the boonies so I’ll have to wait until I’m home to get those up on the blog.)
Sending you positive vibes. Post pics. I’ll join you next year!
hope you rocked it out there today brotha!
