Obviously, this month’s highlight was the North Face 50 on December 5. As I mentioned in my report, I exceeded my expectations and had a blast running the race. After that though, this was something of a throw-away month. I know recovery is a very very important part of racing, but it’s just so damn boring! Between December 6 and today, I feel like I’ve done very little. That was my plan for running, but I had hoped to do a little more cycling, swimming and strength/core training. But then I got sick, and sick again and couldn’t motivate to even do light core work. And since Sunday my achilles has been weighing me down psychologically. Whatever. The goal for December was physical and mental recovery. I am psychologically ready to get back to it, so that worked. Now, I just have to figure out my achilles.
2009 Annual Summary to come soon! I know you can’t wait!
Happy Happy Happy New Year to everyone! Thanks for joining me for the ride in 2009. See you in 2010!
