This is where I’ll be August 28-29, 2010

And this is what I’ll be doing there: www.ac100.com

As those of you who follow me on twitter (spectorjosh) or facebook know, I signed up for the race yesterday. I’m a little freaked out right now. For the first time in a few years I’ve signed up for a race distance that’s longer than I’ve ever done and that obviously scares the bejeezus out of me. Also, my achilles is bothering me again, which is not a great way to start training for such a thing. On the other hand, I’ve been working towards this for a few years and I’ve got plenty of great support around me. And, you have to dream big to go big and I’ve got eight good months of training to get to Wrightwood, CA and the start of the race!

Swim – December 30
Distance: 3,171 yards (2,900 meters)
Time: 1:00

Way to take the plunge. The distance is totally manageable and obviously with the right training, you will be ready. Hell, you have 8 months until you have to toe the line! Way to commit…

You are nuts and inspiring. You should do the Grand Fondo (if you dare come up to NoCal from your SoCal cocoon!)
