San Fran via Vegas

After flying home from New York on Tuesday, I packed again last night for my trip to San Francisco for the North Face 50 on Saturday morning. First though, we took a little detour to Las Vegas for the night. (That crappy/artsy picture is the view from our very cool room at the Encore Hotel.)

We decided to make the trip because Robyn and Assaf are in Vegas for a conference and we haven’t seen them in a long time. Now only if I could have convinced Assaf to bail on the conference on Saturday and pace me for some of the race!

This trip to Vegas is a little different than “normal” – no drinking, careful eating, and a plan to be in bed (relatively) early. It was fun to go for an easy, final run with Assaf up and down the strip this evening. Running through the people on busy sidewalks reminded me of New York and made me a little nostalgic for urban running.
