April 22 Already?
Today is April 22. That means that I have three months to go. Thirteen weeks. I think it’s twelve more weeks of training, a week of taper, and then, it’s go time. It’s just about 7PM today, I don’t even want to think about where I’ll be on race-day, twelve hours in.
Today was another beautiful day. Elizabeth and Charlie and I spent the first part of the day walking around and playing. I headed out for my ride at around 3. I decided to ride in Prospect Park today because I wanted to go by R&A Cycles in Brooklyn to take one further step at getting my bike race ready. Today I finally ordered some race wheels – HED Jet 60’s, in case you’re interested. They should be a good, versatile aero wheel that will be good for any course. Once I get them, I’ll get the Crono all ready and post of picture of how nice and fast it looks.
As for me, I’m tired and a little sore. As I moaned about in yeserday’s post, yesterday’s workout was tough and I definitely felt it today. This coming week starts slowly, but finishes really strong. I’ve really got to get a good night’s sleep tonight to be ready to face this one.
As I type this, Elizabeth’s out for a run. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it goes OK and she doesn’t push it too hard. Her knee is still bothering her, but she’s been itching to get out and test it.

Based on your training, I have a feeling that after 12 hours on race day you’ll already have a finisher’s medal around your neck. You’ve been kicking some serious tail lately in your training and races.
