Another easy day
Day 7 of “recovery”. I definitely feel like I’m recovered, but there’s no reason to rush back into it. I’m struggling with the decision of when to run again. I’m thinking that I’ll try to go for a short, easy run tomorrow morning. I talked to John last week and he told me just to play it by ear for now – do what I can, when I can. I would start up strong again by the middle/end of this week, but I’m flying to Germany on Saturday for a few days, so I think things will really get going again around Thanksgiving (which is less than two weeks away, wow).
Today I made plans to spend the day watching football. This was the first time I’d done that this football season. For the past few months, my Sundays have either been long runs or rides or early morning races, and I haven’t really had the energy or interest to go to a sportsbar. Today was fun, though. I watched the games with Sam, Brad and Andrew. And the Chargers won a shoot-out, which was the icing on the cake. Before the games, I went to the gym and did another easy, relaxed swim. I swam 1,500 yards in 5 sets of 250-350 yards each. It felt good, and better than my swim earlier this week.
Swim – November 12
Distance: 1,500 yards
