Ahh… recovery!

Today was another recovery day and I really need it. My calves are pretty tight, so running is definitely not a good idea just yet. More importantly though is that I’m exhausted and feel like my body is fighting a cold. Unfortunately, I haven’t slept all that well this week – my plan to go to bed early hasn’t panned out and I’ve tried sleeping in, but my body just gets up at around 7:30 whether I like it or not. This marathon really took its toll on me. I don’t know why that surprises me.

I’ll probably take tomorrow off too, though maybe I’ll do an easy half hour spin. A swim on Thursday would probably work and I’ll try to get back into running this weekend or next week. I’ve scheduled a massage for Thursday, which I’m pretty excited about.
