Monthly Summary – February 2012

Here’s February:

Swim: 8,100 meters
Cycling (outdoors): 126.2 miles
Cycling (indoors): 0:30 (hours)
Run: 250.4 miles
Strength Training/Yoga: 7 sessions

Approximate monthly total training/racing time: 54.25 hours

Weight: mid-150s?

February was all about finally trying to kick it into gear to get ready for the LA Marathon.  I’m happy with my 250 mile month, especially since I did get in some limited cross-training.  Now, with 18 days to go, my “real” training is done and now I’ve just got to keep things together (physically and mentally) until raceday. Since I just wrote the other day with an update about my training, I’ll spare you any more boredom about that.

The main notable event was my new half marathon PR (1:26:07) at the Ventura Half Marathon.

As much as anything else, that run gave me confidence to push through the last few weeks of training with a marathon goal in mind.

Alberto – I appreciated your confidence in me in your note from my last post.  I’m gonna give it my best shot…  More on my goals as the race gets a little closer.
