the GoodOnYa bar + Indiegogo campaign
If you’re an observant reader, you might have noticed something about what I’ve worn for my last two races – Coyote Backbone Trail Ultra
and San Diego 100
No, it’s not the pink hat. I’ve worn that in every race for nearly four years! It’s the GoodOnYa bar race shirt!
GoodOnYa bars are in a word, “awesome”. They’re soy free, GMO free, dairy free, animal product free (except some honey) and grain free. They have protein and fiber and best of all, they’re delicious. And I even felt that way before they sent me some shirts to race in.
Kristen Buchanan, the founder and CEO, is a former Olympic field hockey player. She knows nutrition and she cares greatly for people’s health and the health of our planet. She created the GoodOnYa bars with all that in mind. When we met, she asked that I try the bars and see what I thought. Once I tasted them, I offered to help her get the word out (as you might have noticed in any supermarket or healthfood store these days, there are a billion different bars on the shelf). So, I’m racing and training in the shirts and handing out bars for people to sample (if you catch me at the right time).
There are four flavors: Peanut Butter Honey, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Breakfast Bar and Superhero Bar. My personal favorites are the Superhero Bar and Peanut Butter Honey. The Superhero Bar isn’t like anything else I’ve tried, it has all kinds of delicious and healthy stuff packed inside – cashew butter, chia, goji, lucuma, cacao, coconut, maca. Yum.
And right now, GoodOnYa is in the middle of an Indiegogo campaign. Your support will get you some bars and/or some swag and help a southern California local small business doing good for all of us and the planet grow.
The bars are also available in many stores, including many Whole Foods and Sprouts stores.
