Feeling good, again!
Today I was scheduled for a swim and strength training. I would have liked to have swam in the morning and then lifted in the evening, but Elizabeth and I have plans tonight, so I lifted immediately after I got out of the pool.
The swim felt great. I did longer sets (300-400 yards) and tried to keep it slow and easy. I’m certainly not a fast swimmer, but I can do the distances and hopefully some lessons this winter will help my form and efficiency (and speed!).
I’m doing a new strength program, as directed by John. The exercises are mostly the same as what I’m used to doing. The two differences are that first, this program is a circuit, where I do all the exercises in order as the first set and then repeat that “set” two or three more times and second, my goal is to do 20-30 reps of each exercise. Today, I ran out of time and only did two sets. That was probably a good idea, as doing 25-30 reps per set is more than I’m used to (or was used to when I actually was regularly lifting) and to avoid being too sore, I should ease my way back into it.
Swim – November 15
Time: 45 minutes
Distance: 2,150 yards
