It’s LESS THAN ONE WEEK now
Fitness-wise, if it’s not already done, it ain’t getting done.
I saw my doctor yesterday and after hearing an update about my back, he agreed that it’s a joint issue instead of a soft tissue issue. The good news is that PT is not the recommended solution! Instead he gave me a cortisone shot (I think in the ligament). That should reduce the swelling and help with any pain for a little while. So far, I think it feels a little better today than it has in the past. I think. He’s also having me come back in for an injection into the joint itself. He thinks that could totally hook me up. That has to wait until after the race though. Good enough. That way I can hopefully get right started with ultra season pain free!
One more day of work, and we’re headed up to Lake Placid on Thursday morning.
It’s time for me to try to relax, make sure I get sleep, eat well and be extra nice to Elizabeth, Charlie and my family (my faithful cheering section).
I plan on posting regularly over the next few days with thoughts and reflections. As always, thanks for following along.
