More of the same…
Nice title today. “More of the same…” And there will be more, and more, and more. For many months. It’s not boring – definitely not. But it’s exhausting and tiring to think about. And I’m still in the build phase. This week, I’m scheduled for about 9 hours. At some point, I’ll likely be doing nearly twice that. Wow.
Anyway, yesterday the blog was down, so I didn’t get a chance to input my workouts. It wasn’t an off day. Tomorrow is my only off day this week. Looking forward to that already.
Yesterday morning, I did an indoor ride with single-leg training sets. The goal of this type of ride is to work on the pulling part of the rotation. It’s tougher than I initially thought it would be, especially later in the workout once my legs start getting tired. Then last night I went for a run. It was supposed to be a 40 minute easy run, but Elizabeth was going for an hour run and I wanted to go out with her. We ran together to the highway, then split up for a half hour or so and ran home together. It was fun to do with her. The runs to and from the highway are nice warm-ups/cool-downs, and last night I didn’t really want to push it anyway. She’s becoming a really strong runner. She has a tough few months ahead of her, between now and the marathon, but she’s off to a great start and has built a really good base.
This morning I got up and swam another 2,250. Today was just long, easy sets. My initial set was 750 or 800, which is my longest continual swim in a while. Then, I lifted. My bones and joints and muscles and brain are pretty tired.
Ahh… rest day coming up!
