More recovery

I took it easy for another day, but instead of doing nothing I decided to get on the trainer for a half hour. My body certainly needs the rest, but it’s tough on my brain to do not do anything at all. It’s been a strange recovery, and a much much harder one than the recovery from Timberman. My body is a little sore – especially my calves and hamstrings, but nothing too bad. The worst is that I’m straight-up exhausted and feel like I haven’t caught up on sleep. I sort of think that I might be fighting off a cold, but my only “symptoms” are feeling tired and a little light-headed now and then. I think the stress and anxiety leading up the race, along with not sleeping well and then not getting much sleep Saturday night, plus all of the stress of actually running it, have just plain worn me out. Hopefully a good weekend of rest will do the trick.

I’m realizing this week how hard that marathon actually was. It was way harder than Timberman, even though it was two hours shorter. I can’t believe I’m going to be doing that 7 or so hours into the Ironman!
