More running

My stomach’s still not great, but it’s definitely better than it was yesterday. I wasn’t about to skip my run because of an upset stomach (not this kind of upset stomach at least), so I went out to see what I could do. I started a little tenuously, but it wasn’t bothering me and pretty quickly I forgot that it was even an issue. It was a beautiful fall day – cool, crisp and sunny. I did my usual run toward our beach out here, but instead of making the last turn onto the straightaway to the beach, I kept going and went to a different beach entrance road about a half mile further down. I ran down that road and ran onto the beach and ran on the sand from there to our beach entrance. Running on the sand felt great – it’s a lot tougher, but I enjoyed the challenge. Once I was off the sand, I did my strides and then ran home. It was a really nice run.

This week, I’ve run around 2:45 and probably about 21 miles. The running definitely feels really good again. Obviously, I wasn’t on the bike enough, but there’s nothing I could do about that this weekend.
