Wow, still in a foul mood!

My hope that my bad mood would go away by today didn’t work out. Again I woke up in a cloud and really haven’t gotten out of it all day. I’ll still blame it on the late night, but that was Sunday night! How things have changed if I now need more than a day to recover from a late night.

Thankfully, my mood hasn’t stopped me from training and today I was able to do both my swim and strength trainer. Both sessions were pretty good, but I could tell that I wasn’t 100%. My swim included a bunch of drills and sprints with rests, but even so, 2,500 in 60 minutes is pretty weak. Speaking of weak, my drill work is pretty lame. I need to get a swim lesson (I’ve been talking about doing it for months now) and/or learn some new drills to work on. I will say that my form and efficiency and speed feel much better now than they used to. I felt a little more alive while I was lifting, but still not totally clear.

I got the email today that my bike is ready. I’m going to pick it up (and pay for it!) tomorrow evening. I have two rides this weekend (2:45 and 1:15); assuming the weather’s OK and I can get outside for both, I’ll probably use the Felt for the long ride and the Guru for the shorter one. I’d hate to find a problem with the Guru during my long ride!
